Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records' Strategic Marketing Executive Marilyn A. Batchelor Joins TurnerPatterson's Board of Advisors

Los Angeles, November 18 - TurnerPatterson, a leader in the development, marketing and licensing of products targeting the multi-cultural community today announced that Marilyn A. Batchelor will join its Board of Advisors.
Marilyn A. Batchelor is executive-in-charge of Strategic Marketing and Music licensing for Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records, under the Universal Music Group umbrella. Her most recent campaign achievements are music licensing on television, in movies and specialty programming such as the current running Mary J. Blige, Reebok and Coca-Cola and The Roots commercials. She is also credited with orchestrating third party deals and corporate partnerships with Ashlee Simpson; Blink 182; Rufus Wainwright; Common; Talib Kweli; Sigur Ros; Luis Fonsi; and Avant, to name a few.
Ms. Batchelor joined MCA Records as Director of Marketing in 1999. She was promoted to Senior Director of Marketing, National Director of Marketing and Vice President of Strategic Marketing, respectively. She was responsible for bringing in corporate partners, licensing music and overseeing all entertainment endorsements. During her tenure, she handled campaigns for Patti LaBelle; Gladys Knight; Immature; Jesse Powell; Regina Belle; Bobby Brown; George Benson; Magic Johnson Music, etc., as well as a series of cross promotions with McDonald's, Burger King, Macy's and the Inspirational arm of MCA Records.
Prior to MCA, Ms. Batchelor held several journalism positions including assistant editor at Best of Business Magazine in Knoxville; The Ithaca Journal, The Syracuse Herald-Journal, The Detroit News and The Orange County Register in California.
Ms. Batchelor has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Science in Magazine Journalism from Syracuse University; MBA from UCLA's Anderson Graduate School of Management, and holds certification in the UCLA African-American Leadership Institute and Harvard Business School's Executive Education program.
She serves as an associate pastor at Lewis Metropolitan CME Church and on the board of the Sickle Cell Disease Research Foundation. Ms. Batchelor is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. And is a recipient of the 2002 Syracuse University Chancellor's Citation for distinguished excellence in the business field of music.
