Johnson Publishing Company Announced TurnerPatterson as Exclusive Licensing Acency

Agreement To Include Product Licensing For Leading Publication EBONY Magazine

NEW YORK, NY, June 21, 2005 – Johnson Publishing Company, the world’s largest Black-owned publishing company and home of EBONY magazine, today announced that they have signed an agreement to retain TurnerPatterson as the exclusive merchandise licensing agency for the EBONY brand.

Johnson Publishing Company will partner with TurnerPatterson to analyze product licensing opportunities in all categories of interest to the African-American marketplace. Initially, the companies will focus on categories including: home, financial services, mobile entertainment and internet technology, apparel, music, toys and home entertainment appealing to African-American women, families, teens and children.

“As a leading brand in African-American homes for the past 60 years, EBONY has acquired a unique knowledge of the needs and wants of the various demographics of African-Americans,” stated Linda Johnson Rice, President and Chief Executive Officer of Johnson Publishing Company. “We are thrilled to tap the expertise of TurnerPatterson, which will enable EBONY to join forces with companies to bring high-quality merchandise to the marketplace.”

Johnson Publishing Company and TurnerPatterson will be available for appointments and interviews June 21-23, 2005 at Booth 4256 at the Licensing International 2005 Show at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.
