Johnson Publishing Company, publisher of 60 yr-old Ebony Magazine, has inked an agreement with TurnerPatterson

Johnson Publishing Company, publisher of 60 yr-old Ebony Magazine, has inked an agreement with TurnerPatterson to act as the exclusive merchandise licensing agency for the Ebony brand. While the company plans to explore licensing opportunities in all categories of interest to the African-American market, the initial focus will be on categories including mobile entertainment and internet technology, apparel, music, toys and home, and financial services specifically targeted to African-American women, families, teens and kids. A privately held company founded in 1942, Johnson Publishing Company is the largest Black-owned publishing company in the world. Johnson Publishing Company owns and publishes Ebony and Jet magazines, as well as books titles under its The Book Division. Other Johnson Publishing properties include Fashion Fair Cosmetics, a line of makeup and skincare for women of color, and Ebony Fashion Fair, a traveling fashion show. TurnerPatterson develops/markets/licenses/distributes entertainment and consumer products targeted to the multi-cultural community, as well as creating integrated marketing plans for all initiatives.
