TurnerPatterson Announces Cultural Arts Licensing Division

Los Angeles, February 8, 2006 – TurnerPatterson, a leader in licensing and marketing of cultural brands, announced today that they have launched a cultural arts division with the signing of their first artist, Phoebe Beasley.
“Our art licensing practice will represent art and photography which reflects the diverse cultures including those of Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Americas. We seek to develop products which extend the artists’ collections and reflect the lifestyles of their collectors,” stated Debra Turner, Chief Executive Officer of TurnerPatterson. “Our goal is to enhance the understanding and appreciation of diverse peoples, cultures and religions of the world with our licensing programs.”
Phoebe Beasley (www.phoebebeasley.com) is a well respected artist with an impressive list of both corporate and private collectors including Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Maya Angelou, The Gillette Company and Colgate Palmolive. Working in the medium of collage for over thirty-five years, Phoebe has continued to develop her art form with projects that go beyond the confines of gallery exhibitions. President Clinton presented the Ambassadors of the Diplomatic Corps with one of Phoebe’s monoprints entitled “Clinton Inaugural” in 1993, it was the second time she received the coveted Presidential Seal on her work. The first time was in 1989 when she was commissioned to do the “Official Artwork” for the Inauguration of President Bush, thus making her the only artist to twice receive the honor.
It was Beasley’s clients who encouraged her to explore licensing her images into other areas. “Actually several of my collectors saw a market for my artwork images in other areas long before I did”, said Beasley. “In addition to artworks, these collectors were purchasing furniture, home accessories, china, linens and personal items from top quality stores, boutiques and even museums around the country. But what they weren't seeing was, artists of color participating at this level”.
TurnerPatterson serves a niche in the art licensing business by focusing exclusively on cultural markets. “They focus on the art of a market they already knew well,” stated Phoebe Beasley.
TurnerPatterson will work with their clients to create natural brand extension programs in the areas of home décor, furniture, domestics, table top, collectables and paper goods.
